Rockabilly Revival Rocks the Redlands

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Redlands Rockabilly Revival on Sunday March 12, 2017 at Cleveland Showgrounds.

Cleveland Showgrounds was transformed into a rock'n'roll paradise as the site filled hot rods, classics and thousands of people ready for a big day out. The weather lords kept the rain away making the fins and chrome dazzled in the sunshine, amongst the colourful market stalls and attractions. Thank you to all the vendors who set up their tempting stalls on the day.

Under the shady concert plaza The Haymakers kicked off the show with a solid set of Americana classics, followed by vintage rhythm'n'blues by Little Billy, then a rockin' surf set by Lovejoy Surf with guest spot by Junior Hickey. The Hi-Boys slammed it into high gear with their raw edge rockabilly, and Twang did their thang with a polished set of hillbilly bop and rockabilly. Nestled amongst the band sets was DJ Leapin' Lawrie, who kept the dance floor pumping and the rockers jumping. Thank you to all the bands for putting on such world-class performances.

A highlight of the day for many, the Pinup Parade was a cavalcade of glamour, as the ladies dazzled the audience in their favourite frocks, showing off their seamed stockings, betty page cuts and victory rolls, sailor outfits, petticoats and high heels. Thank you to all the pinups, including Foxy Rocket, Miss Melissa Kay, Miss Angela Misfit, Shimona Clark, Miss Diamond Divine, Miss Deeshy Dee, Miss Gatito, Vivien Victory, Miss Fifi la Rouge, Miss Velvet Crush, Miss Ruby Alabaster, Miss Vena Cava, Miss Imy La Fleur and The Velvet Vixen, you are all very inspiring.

Events such as the Redlands Rockabilly Revival these take months of behind the scenes work, followed by a huge effort on show day. Here's a genuine thank you and acknowledgement to the Robot Productions crew for all their hard work to make the event run smoothly.

We will be announcing the date for the Redlands Rockabilly Revival in 2018 shortly!
